Jason Van Velsor
Vice President, Nondestructive Examination and Instrumentation, Structural Integrity Associates
Dr. Jason Van Velsor is Vice President, Non-destructive Examination and Instrumentation (NDE&I) at Structural Integrity Associates (SIA). He provides executive leadership for this vital business line, which continues to expand by delivering innovative, advanced NDE and monitoring solutions for the evolving industries that SIA serves.
Dr. Van Velsor’s deep knowledge and experience span the nuclear, power generation, and oil and gas markets, aligning seamlessly with SIA’s primary business areas. Most recently, he served as SIA’s Executive Director of NDE&I, where his research and development efforts expanded the company’s product offerings and client base. He continues these developmental efforts in his current role while working to develop related licensing agreements, strategic relationships, and connections with industry consortia.
He joined SIA in 2011 through the acquisition of a guided wave testing services business that he co-developed, where he served as the Director of Engineering Services. Dr. Van Velsor served on SIA’s Board of Directors from 2018 until the sale of the ESOP in 2022.
Dr. Van Velsor holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Penn State University. He is a published author on the topic of ultrasonic guided waves in solid media and holds multiple patents in his field of technical expertise. Dr. Van Velsor is an adjunct Chair of the Guided Wave Testing Method Committee for the American Society of Non-destructive Testing and has served on multiple other industry codes and standards committees related to NDE.
